82 f100 4.9l 300 inline 6. The kickdown rod from the transmission to carb. was bent while taking engine out. Does anyone have any suggestions where another can be located? Forget about Ford Motor Co. They said that part was obsolete and they don't have it. I live in Longview, Tx and I have tried all the salvage yards in my area. No luck so far.
EOTZ-7A187-B your right it is obsolete, just for kicks I ran it on a locator and there is no one anywhere that has one. you might try LMC truck 1-800-LMC-TRUCK you might get one there.
I got a question. What clips go on the studs at the rod ends? I've tried several generic styles and nothing fits. I have the rod that came with my 82 F-150 (351W/C6) and got the kickdown adapter for my Edelbrock carb but finding the clips is giving me fits.

97409-S2 is the Ford part number go to your local dealer and see if they stock one. If you tell me where you live i'll run a locator and tell you who has one in your area.
I've seen engine pics online and it looks like a good old fashioned e-clip. I tried a set of those in the Help section at the parts store with assorted sizes. Maybe it just didn't have the right size in it. Looks like it's a 1/4" stud. I've got a different style on it now from the Help section, had to modify them a little but they're staying on.
