Just picked up my first powerstroke last night and so far I'm liking it. One thing that I noticed about it is, it seems to start a little hard when it is warm. The truck is a 2001 F250 Lariat 4x4 7.3L CC Short bed auto. As far as performance parts on the truck it has 4"DP and 5" exhaust and some pilarguages.
Hard start when warm, the first place to look is oil pressure. No matter how good it looks change it out to a quality diesel 15-40. I just put 6000 miles on 5-40 and switched back to 15-40 yesterday. It may be my imagination but it seems to start even quicker with the 15-40. That may be true for hot weather only I don't know.
Congrats on the new Stroker. Treat her right and you will have many pleasant miles.
You will need 15 qts.
Amsol is ok if you have deep pockets.
I change mine every 3,000 with Rotella T dino oil.
Oil is a very hot topic around here, just make sure you get a diesel rated oil and you will be ok.
