What's a 56 Ford F100 pickup worth? It's been sitting for about five years outside. Condition of original engine and transmission unknown. Moderate rust due to salting of roads in Northeast. Fairly complete except for running boards. Driver's door glass missing. Some dents here and there, but no large rust holes. I'm looking at this truck as a long range frame off project. Any guesses?
Nobody gave me a clue as to what it was worth, so I passed. The guy wanted $2500 and has since sold it. I don't know if he got what he was asking or not.
I would of paid less the $2500 but then again that is just me. I am looking at one right now for $1500 with a working motor and tranny but they are out of the truck. Extra parts and both a long and short bed.
I with you on that. I think the truck might have been worth about half of what the guy wanted for it, but he said it would sit there and rot before he took less that $2500 for it. It did sit there and rot for about five years or so. What you found sounds more like what I was looking for.
No different then buying a new car ...you have to be able to walk away and let someone else buy it. In your case it looks like he finally found someone though and it might of worked out great for hte buyer.
I am looking for a bargain and there is always one out there if you look hard and long enough..
You are absolutely right and that's why I'm still looking. It's a good thing this town has no ordinances regarding vehicles sitting in your yard like some places, or he may have been forced to part with it for less than the asking price long ago.
