I think we need to start a disclaimer on the 5" exhaust fuel efficentcy, Something like

"While free flowing exhaust CAN improve fuel mileage 1 - 2 MPG you WILL typically notice a 3 - 4 MPG loss in fuel efficentcy untill you stop letting your ears control your foot and return this function to your brain"

and i do have to say that i lost that function in my brain to my ear and foot, but like a lot of man we tend to loose brain ctrl to our "exhaust"pipes

thanks for a good laugh man,,,,

I ordered my 5" from Mark http://stores.ebay.com/MKO-DIESEL-PERFORMANCE last Sunday - after listening to the sounds on "Kwik's" site, I can't wait to get it installed. Looking forward to the lower MPGs and "ear candy"!

Talking

thats where i got my CANONS from, its straight forward, make sure you get a good jigsaw with new blade to chop up your old pipes, and have some patience with the turbo downpipe clamp, thats where i lost most time,
my sugestion is get a deep socket the depest you can get, i think 9/16, and a lot of patience, loosen the clamp compleetly, dont take nut compleetly off, just enough to separate bolt from the bottom ears on the clamp, then with long flat screwdriver or long prybar try to get as close to the point where the bolt attaches on the clamp,
than try to pry it up
no other spot will work you bust or deform the clamp, it will pop just find that sweet spot, but like i said as close to the bolt as you can, than just just go around once it pops, youll see
and its good to have you friend to help you to put the downpipe on,
, the rest its a brease, you might have to cut one of the pipes to fit you truck
depends on the body you have
one more thing
if you have problem puting down pipe on , you might have to remove the ground bolt from the back of the block, its on the top , i had to do it, to get it in nice,
look for it
you can than reatach it to any spot on the engin, its a cabin ground
good luck man
you will like it

Peter

if you have any problems, pm me and ill try to help you as much as i can
or ill give you my #

take care bro

Thanks, Peter. I'll do that. I checked with Mark earlier and my 5" system should be delivered tomorrow. Unfortunately, I've got to travel next week and deer season starts this weekend so I won't be able to do the install for 3 weeks! Arrrggghhh!!!

Oh, well...I an use the box for an end table or something until I get time to work on'em.

I want to play too. The pipe and the inside of the muffler are this big all the way to the 4" down pipe. No fakey flared exhaust tips to give the illusion of grandeur.

And I do run with a muffler. It's the overexposed portion of the upper right corner of the picture.

I have stainless flowmaster and it still looks great after 6 years! Yeah, I do take care of it. That's how you get 200,000 and on out of it!
