I dont think TC is on a downswing of his career. His Mission Impossible 2 netted 385 million I think I read somewhere. Paramount is taking a roll of the dice letting this golden goose go down the road. ...

I dont care about TC one way or the other, just another grossly overpaid actor with illusions of granduer. All the actors I like are getting gray and senile or headed out to pasture. They just dont makem' like they used to.

The song by Toby Keith " look at me now" may be the theme song for TC soon .

He still has enough money and clout to work his way to the big screen

TC thinks he is all knowing and seeing. After all, he is a star, and we little people better listen to him, for he knows what is best for us.

Hail TC!

The one; the all knowing.

I'll give him one thing though; he does own and fly a mighty nice WWII P-51 Mustang.

OMG! Between your post and avatar, I pictured a great delivery of your message.
Maybe I watch too many movies and my imagination runs wild, but I laughed out loud. Temporarily lost composure.

Anyway, I never really much cared for that pannie waste Tom Cruise. I think he's an arrogant, full of self SOB. Oh yeah, did I mention overpaid.
But I'm sure he'll soon find a replacement for his recently lost income. As long as folks keep paying to see the movies he's "starring" in, the little cut off sucker will be living the high life for years to come.

What would happen to you or I if anytime you went in public microphones and cameras were stuck in your face, you just might catch me saying something stupid or acting a little weird. I might even begin to believe that these folks really wanted to know what I thought about events. I might not even recognize that these interviewers were playing me to see if they could get me to say something out of line, controversial or just plain stupid. I do not care for TC movies and he does come off as a little out there. I do not know him personally and very likely would not want to, but maybe who knows. All I am saying walk around in his shoes and see if life wouldn’t be just a bit strange and unreal as in losing touch with reality. I am sure it would take less than his experiences to make some of us a head case.

Good point Rocky. I do agree with what you are posting about giving people the benefit of the doupt.
However, I still think he's a little cut off sucker though.
He's fun to hammer on too.

On the other hand there are movie celebrities that seem to be down to earth.

The other Tom comes to mind. Tom Hanks.

Is he as good as TC? In my book, gooder.

The only time I would want to walk in TC's shoes is when he goes to the bank.

It really does appear that TC thinks he is very special (and this may be an act), but hey this is what sells movie tickets and DVDs. We all have our outward persona, put the best foot forward and so forth. If you look at how some of theses celebrities lives have had the wheels fall off publicly the fame does not look like such a good deal to me. Never the less you have a good point, he is a little cut off sucker, I can’t argue established facts.

a while back a DJ on a local radio station here in Plano, TX. said
"Tom Cruise has been awarded a guisness world book of records record today. . . . . . for going from 'cool' to 'creep' the fastest"

I agree, and I havn't seen katie Holmes recently but I think she at least used to be pretty hott.

I only like TCs early movies. But just like John Travolta, Scientology messed him up to. And Scientology costs alot of money... Thats is why its just for celebreties......

I think Toms been messed up for a while now, but he's had really good agent/managers that have kept him in check his entire career. A few years ago he got fed up with what he thought was over control and fired them. Without the PR machine he was left to say anything he wanted, and being a little bi-polar, he said/acted what was on his mind. Not able to take his meds, because of his religion, (the spaceship is coming!), he's pretty much on a rollercoaster. You'll notice he has very few 'normal' interviews. Most of them either being arrogent/angry like with Lauer or hyped up, like on Oprah.

He should have hundreds of millions invested with all the movies hes made, but I bet that religion based on a sci-fi novel has take a good share of that. Sad really, I think he's just a 'normal' guy.

I guess the best thing to say is TC is no Jimmy Stewart, who was a real war hero, actually knew how to fly, and knew when to keep his mouth shut.

An arrogant Cruise has stated something to the effect that he doesn't need a studio...he has enough money to make his own films. Probably doesn't need a producer or director, either....he can do that himself too. And write his own scripts. But who will distribute his self-made movies after he alienates everyone in Hollywood?

Not many females on this forum, but I'm wondering if he can get away with this BS much longer without losing his fan base...?
