The paint code is 7009 Medium Gloss Dark Neutral. Its a Dupont color and was mixed by Autobody Color and Supply in Schnectady NY. I will try to figure out how to add pictures to my gallery.
Thanks for the help on the paint code! I went to a local automotive paint shop and they computer matched my Lariat grey dash color. It turned out pretty well! I will also try and post some pics of my edge and my truck.
I was playing with the timing and the WOT fuel today on level 3.Very impressive throttle response.......And the Magnaflow exhaust just sounds great!! Great product
Its my first Lariat and I like it. i am a technition so I keep my seat coverd but I like it. The dealer i buiy from loves me when I come in cause I am pretty **** about my cars and when I trade all they do is scrape the reg and state inspection stickers and put it on the lot for sale. i was thinking about trading in for a diesel but I think I will keep this one for a while. I already went through some bad timews with my 6.0. But FORD did good by me and I got this truck when they bought it back. So far I am pleased. i am going to put the leveling kit in next I think. Just got to find the right one. Thanks for looking at the gallery.
Since you are a technician i would like to ask your opinion on my transmission. My 1-2 shifts are very sloppy.I have read that it is the valve body causing the sluggishness.Do you know of a company that sells the valve body that would correct the shifting problem? The edge has really sharpened up all of the other shifts!!! I just feel like that sloppy shift will only get worse if i keep putting my foot in it!!!
Did you try a custom tune on your edge to add firmness to the 1-2 shift. My truck is not that bad I have the shift for 1-2 at a +2 all others are at +1. I would try that first if that doesnt work maybe start a new thread or search the threads to see if anyone else has had this issue. Do remember that if you take the truck in try to remove the edge evo. and put it back to the stock tune so that if there is an update for the PCM or TCM that it will not screw up the truck or you edge. I dont know of anyone that has a aftermarket valvebody or a shift kit which you would change some springs and valves in the trans. The problem now a days is that everything is controlled by the computer. Thats why you can change shift firmeness from the comfort of you cushy Lariat seat. So far shifts in my truck have been great since the edge install. Hope that helps CREW.
Your 1-2 shifts are OK at wide open throttle?Mine has about a 1.5 second dead spot in the shift before it hits second.I have only set the firmness once when i first set up setting 3.I set all of the firmness settings to the same number and all of the other shifts are really sharp.I am going to try and reset 1-2 a little firmer and see what happens......Thanks again......I will definetly remember to reset the computer back to stock before i take my screw in to the DR.
Mine is a little mushy between the 1-2 at WOT. But from what i hear this is acharectoristic of the truck. Just for S!!*s and Giggles try puttin it back to stock and driving it. then you will really see that its bad. while it is at stock program check and see if there is an update on the EDGE website and down load it. I am not sure that there is. I took mine back and they said there is nothing wrong. If you take yopurs back and find something please let me know.
Here are a few things I've found with the Edge. First off, I love it, it make the truck move like never before. But I've seen a couple of issues, but nothing major at all. While moving the boat around in hilly wet terrain, I had it on setting 2. I put the truck in 4-Low. The Edge will trip a few codes due to tranny speed vs. truck speed and throw the engine into reduced throttle. If you need 4L, put it into stock setting. 4 high is still ok.
For some reason, switching from level 2 to 3, it changes my tire size, to a 37" tire. So at 65, the speedo reads 90.
It locked up once, stopped the gauge reading, blinked my red LED on top of dash, and hesitated the motor for about 2 seconds. A quick off and restart fixed that. All in all, I love it. Best $400 spent!
In between levels you will need to reset your tire size and possibly your gear ratio. It does it between level 1 and 2 also. Never tried 4x4 while using the Edge. Thanks for the info!
