What is the average price for one of these?
What all does it do other than just power, and mpg improvements,(shows 1/4 mile times?, ect...?)

Thanks for any help

MBBFord,
I paid just under 400.00 for mine from truck racing parts. From what i understand the unit will show trouble codes, can change shift points, and correct the dreaded throttle lag from idle!

You will have no more throttle lag at all! I almost got a big fat ticket just after install. I smoked the tires leaving a parking lot and I got yelled at by the cops! It displays all engine vitals.... Oil temp, trans fliud temp, coolant temp, cylinder head temp, throttle position, MPH, RPM, trans turbine output speed , ect ect ect. It will give you 0-60 plus 1/4 mile times. It will read trouble codes, and on and on and on. This is the best tuner I have used to date, programming is fast and easy and it make a huge difference when towing. I tow a 7000+lb Travel Trailer and like the idea of being able to monitor the temps, not to mention the extra power in the hills. Go to www.discountpowerparts.com They have the best prices, shipping and customer service. I got mine from there and had it in 2 days! Plus they are an FTE sponsor!

20Screw06,

You will be very satisfied with the results of your EVO. It will get rid of all your throttle lag...al of it. As prviously posted becareful tho its like driving a totally diiferent truck. I drove mine for about 2000 miles without it and took it back to the dealer a couple of times and they tell me its normal so I decided to do some resarch here and found this product. I know Edge has been around for a while in the diesel market but I am glad they did this for us gassers. If I take it easy on it I will get around 12-14 mpg in the city. My uncle has a 05 FX4 with the 5.4 all he can get out of his is 11-12 mpg. Just so you know I run mine on the number 2 setting with 89 octane no custom tunes... havent fooled with that yet. I also built an exhaust system back in August of 05 when I bought the truck. I have a flowmaster 40 series muffler but I am looking into a MagnaFlow exhaust. I have heard great things about those systems. Anyway welcome to the boards and enjoy your new new truck with the EVO.

Sarge,

Thanks for the information! I have been trying to find out what i could do to get rid of the dreaded throttle lag that exists! Sounds like the EVO is the way to go. I thought about taking my truck to the dealer and getting them to reflash the ecm,but i heard too many stories of different dealerships having access to different programs and some of them do nothing for the lag.I did not want to take the chance of going through all of the trouble of making the appointment and leaving my truck for a day and the problem still existing!
Yea....The best mileage i can get out of mine so far is 14.7....and that is just with the K&N aircharger. What is your opinion on the Volant cold air set up as far as performance goes? I am still waiting for my EVO and my Magnaflow exhaust to arrive!!

Thanks for the info and it is great to have some good solid advice from good people on an awsome forum......

Steve

I have a 2005 FX4 5.4 liter supercrew with 7500 miles on it. Does the evo void the warranty if installed. I know you can change it back to stock but wouldnt the onboard computer let ford know when they check it during warranty repair that it has been altered....thanks

20screw06,

What part number of exhaust did you get and can you let me know how it sounds when you install it.

I am not sure if the warranty can be void there is a huge grey line that the Manufacturers walk when A/M parts go. When you go to the dealer make sure you have the program set back to the original program.

Hope this helps,

Sarge

Sarge,

The part number of my magnaflow that i ordered is the 16615.....Single in and dual out the back. I will let you know how it sounds.....Hopefully not too loud....well....maybe a little!
I will be sure and reset the evo back to stock before i take the screw in for service.....I have a long way till the 100,000 mile warranty is up!
Your help is appreciated!
So the paint shop was able to match your pod pretty well?

I just checked my tracking number...still scheduled for Wednesday. Thats the good part.
The kinda bad parts...
I'm a Pennsylvania resident and had to add 6% tax, but its shipped from Louisville, KY. Ok, so I'm out a $22, but it'll be here Wed.
The other bad part, I just filled the tank with 89 octane. I'm afraid to really try it out, and the truck only has 2500 miles on it.
