Just make sure that the fluid that he (poster of the links below) mentions is the correct fluid that is stated in your owner's manual... but the procedure is the same regardless if for some reason it is not!!
Very nice instructions Beach bum.Does anyone know how to save a thread like this for future reference? Thanks,Al.
Actually it is in the "tech folder" that is a "sticky" at the top of this forum.
Scroll down and you will see it.
I click on the link and when it opens to that webpage, click on your favorites tab at the top of your Internet Explorer program and save the web-page as a "favorite".
Then you can find and click on it at will.
May even want to print out in color and file away as well?
Guzzle92 is the member from FTE who created that great site. He has some awesome writeups full of pics for some common 7.3L mods, as well as common maintenance tasks for all Superduties. And yes, there's a link to his site in the Superduty Tech Folder which is stickied at the top of the Superduty Forum.
Maybe Guzzle will post in this thread so you all can thank him properly.
Oh, btw... I doubt he has switched to a 6.0 or ever would even consider it.
Great links. I've been wanting to service my rear end but was put off by the lack of a drain plug! I still think I might replace the cover with a Mag Hytec just for the draining ease.
Lets post this thread and the links below into the tech forum as these are the best detailed instructions I have found yet!!!
Credit is given to the Ford truck owner that has set up his own site and posted these instructions... Thank you Sir!!!
Some of his mods and instructions are for his older 7.3L truck, but it appears that he has upgraded to a 6.0L and has posted info regarding that?
...................
Good luck and enjoy... I will with such detailed "how to" instructions.
Jeff
Jeff, you're welcome and I have enjoyed putting the site together and hope it has encouraged some FTE'ers to get their hands a little greasy instead of donating to their local steelerships.
This is all 7.3 Powerstroke stuff from working on my 2002 F350.... I am afraid I would have a hard time considering a 6.0 but I suppose some of the maintenance stuff would correlate to the 6.0 with the fluid changes.
I have more stuff to add but have been too busy this entire summer to even do much posting on FTE; building a new home for the PSD and getting close to finishing.
