I bought this 02 F150 SC used last April. The person that I bought it from is in another town that is nearby. As it turns out one of my friends nows a guy that is a friend of the seller. He told him that the Odometer is not accurate on the truck. It read 93K when I bought it. He said that the guy ran it for a year with the odmeter cable removed. I am not sure if this is even possible now on the newer vechiles.
Is there a way that I can tell what the real mileage is?
If he did have it removed, it would have been a rough ride. The computer uses the speed to determine shifting, etc. without it the transmission would be doing a lot of guess work. I don’t believe there is a way of finding the actual mileage if it was unplugged.
