06 turning radius

Great forum for V-10 owners! Only thing not mentioned for improvements to the 06 super duty truck on this forum is the shorter turning radius these trucks have. It is something I noticed right away after trading my 03 diesel on this truck. Easier in parking lots and easier to back my 5th wheel. I read a lot of positive threads on this forum about V-10's before trading my diesel and have had no regrets. Thanks to all who contribute.

Good Point Workman, it has been a while since I got my 05.

The 4x4 now being coil sprung, I was sure I was NOT going to like the system. In fact prior to getting her I was real mad at Ford for even thinking of screwing with a bullet proof 4x4 front end....

But after a few hours on the new truck and deliberately trying to exercise the 4x4 system I became a convert and true believer... I think the coil sprung 4x4 front end that keeps the full solid housing front axle and diff is a great move forward.

The shorter turning radius is just one of the benefits that compliments the overall usefulness of a 4 door long bed SuperDuty Ford Truck

Ask anyone with "death wobble" if they care about the turning radius

(WHY do I have this urge to stir the pot this afternoon???????)

And since you did stir it...... I fully expect you to accuratly describe what it is, what causes it, what the frequency of the probelm is and how it has been fixed... and admit that you have no practical experiance with the new front end so your opinion is like mine used to be... very very biased
I will defent the coil sprung front end with the exact same veracity that I defended the 5R100 TorqShift auto trans....with all the strength of a convert!

The "Death Wobble" Can happen on any type suspension if conditions are right (or wrong) in this case. I have seen posts of "Death Wobble" in variors years makes and models even leaf spring S.D.

Ssshhhhhh... be vewy vewy quiet.

Seriously Fred, I was just stirring the pot. I know it's a resonance in the steering box (spool valve return springs too weak, I think). From everyone's descriptions, it's obvious what it is.

I was only playing Devil's advocate, because I know someone might come up with the exact same comment

I will completely shut up now...

Oh, and you are absolutely right, I have NO experience with it Except the horrible bump-steer (and I do know bump-steer) which was a box resonance with my '01 - completely lost it on a piece of I-287 going upstate. Exact description of "death wobble" .. So now I have weak spool valve springs, and a stiff stabilizer. Heaven. I wonder if my stock stabilizer is available in Motorcraft?

Because, usually, within 50K miles they were wandering all over the place.
