So will the 6.4 engine have specs when it is released at the texas state fair, or will it just be a motor and no specs?

Also does anyone know when this is going to be in an actual truck, and what model/body and the year? 07 in sept of 06 or 07 in jan of 07. or 08 body in jan of 07, or 08 body in july of 07 or will they wait and put the new motor in sept of 07 as an 08 model year??????????????do I have anyone confused yet??????????????????? LOL

Hmm Seem to me I heard that lie before. They wont stand up to it they'll say what they did with the 6.0 "we don't rate these trucks" so there's no bases for better economy. 6.0l vary from 9 MPG's to 19 MPG's. Therefore is 15 MPG "better fuel economy" or what. I will wait 3 years before purchasing a new engine, burnt me once, not again.

My favorite line is, "The new 6.4 liter will be larger than the 6.0L"...

Did the bean counter or the engineer put that line in....................... WOW.

Did they say how much bigger the new engine would be over the old one??????????????

They must have been looking really hard for selling points.

why do they have to make the engine quietter? the 6.0 is quiet as it is. one of the best things about owning a diesel is its growl. fords starting to go the same way as chevy. quiet+soft ride= a car. if you want somthing that isnt loud and dosent ride rough then dont buy a truck. thats just my thoughts on all the people that say "it rides to rough, and its to loud"

I agree, I think diesel trucks should be loud and mean. I also think though that they are making diesels quieter to make them more attractive to non traditional diesel buyers. I dont think they want just us rednecks buying these things anymore. On the bright side of things, the more diesels they sell, the more money they will have for R&D and the more money they have for R&D, the better the diesel engine will become for us rednecks.

I agree, I love the sound of my Diesels when I crack them off in the morrning, I also love the smell of diesel. I don't set there and huff on the pipe or anything, but I have the feeling that is going to be gone soon as well with all the filters and USLD.

As to the coment about Gm d-max's going the way of the car, I think Gm has a long, long way to go to get to the smooth ride of even the F350's I had a 2001 D-max crew GMC 3/4 ton, that was the roughest riding truck I have ever had. Where my 06' KR PSD is the smoothest riding truck I have ever had at least the smoothest 3/4 ton.
