Which 5'' exhaust system is the best?

I want to replace my stock exhaust with a new one. I want a turbo back with a 4''DP and a 5'' pipe. Straight, no muffler. Stainless as well. Is dually really worth getting or is the only difference the sound? Also which company makes the best system? I'm new to the diesel world so I hope I'm making sense.

There was a lot of rage a while back about 5" exhaust from Mark Romriell, he is on ebay at MKO diesel performance. I don't have one, but am looking into getting either a 4" or 5" through him.

I would go with MBRP. I have a the same system that Mark sells. I was a little dissappointed in the sound. The muffler from Mark will have a chamber in the middle to help with drone. The MBRP is completely straight through. You will get a better sound from MBRP. This is the reason I am thinking of going with a straight pipe, no muffler. However, the price is better if you go with Mark.

I've the MBRP, no muffler and really, really like it. In fact I have a SS muffler still in the box that is taking up room. Anyone wants it, pay for the shipping and we will call it a gift.

humboldtps,

The ONLY stainless 5 inch I am aware of is Magnaflow, MBRP's is aluminized. The hollow chamber mufflers you mentioned are actually a slight restriction in the system as the exhaust gasses are flowing in and out and round about trying to find the way out. For the best in EGT drop you want a packed louvered or perforated core muffler that is straight thru in it's design. If you want an MBRP let me know, but they are aluminized only.

I have been looking at exhaust systems. Had my eye on 4" MBRP, but wondering if i should go with a 5 inch from Mark for the same price. Would there be a big difference in performance going up to the 5inch size. I am planning on doing the 6637 filter for intake mod and thats it for now. Chip will be when next bonus comes around. Thanks for any input.

JBB, i think the 5" from MR is alot better deal. the MBRP was $400 without a tip and that was only 4". Mark sells the 5" for $375. alot more exhaust for less money.

i searched for "powerstroke 5 inch exhaust" there were two results. both were Mark Romriell's, one for the 6.0 and one for the 7.3.

here is the 7.3.
