Spindle Bearing Maintenance

How often do most of you pull your front spindles an clean/repack the needle bearings the spindle rides on. I do my front wheel bearings ever 30,000 miles, but not my spindle bearings very often. Seems like every 30,000 miles of 4X4 use would be more reasonable than every 30,000 mile 2X4 use.

Any easy tips on cleaning without replacing? Or is it simply a pull off the spindle, wipe it out and pack new grease over the old grease?

Yep, they don't see as much service as the wheel bearings. I only do them during other service(s). You can clean them with brake cleaner and a small plastic brush blow out the crud and re-pack.
