Emblems?
Hey Explorer guys, I got a question for a friend. She has a '97. One of her V8 emblems got screwed up and she wants to know where she can get a new one or set of new ones.
Also, how are they held on and how do they come off? Thanks a bunch.

Any dealership can get them. I think they are something like $25 for both, They are just stick-ons. I would look at ebay and find some there. You can usually find V8 emblems on there for $10...

The emblems are held on by double sided tape, made by 3M and available from Autozone and others. Lots of guys on other truck forums prefere to remove the emblems for a cleaner look. I tried to remove the emblems off the taigate of my wife's explorer (1996), but theu also had holes in the body to center the emblems. They went back on with the double sided tape. It was probably for the better because the adhesive had deteriorated around the emblem posts and rust began to form. i cleaned it up and i think now i have a better seal to keep the water out. If you don't have holes in the body, think about leaving the emblems off.
