Hi I usually hang around in the 61-66, and 48-60 forums but today I bought a 63 Ranchero. It,s an unfinished project thats close to my house. Looks like most of the bodywork has been done and was close to ready for paint. Its been sitting outside for a while so it has some surface rust but no cancer I could see. I'll be hitting you guys up here for your knowledge and parts sources. I'll get some pics up when it comes home. My focus will be to get it to driver status so I can take my 61 unibody down to the frame but still have a truck for getting parts, dump runs, and general light hauling. My son has a 62 Falcon we've been working on for him to drive for High School. If he stays focused it should be paint ready by his 16th Bday 11-1. Now all I need is a datsun 1200 Ute (Aussie pickup) and I'll have unibody trucks in small, medium, and large.
Looks like you got a good deal. Its got a good motor, looks like anyway. Good luck with the restore. Parts for a '62 falcon will fit on a '63 Ranchero, If ya know what I mean! If your son doesn't stay focused.
Congratulations!

I have a '63 Ranchero myself and If you are interested in upgrading your Ranchero or your sons Falcon for saftey reasons, (2 speed intermittent wiper/washer, disk brakes, V8 suspension, moving the E-brake handle so it's easier to reach in a panic stop, etc.). Let me know and I can tell you some of the cars and trucks that parts interchange with.

Jammero thanks, I've got it under control. My sons Falcon came with 66 Mustang control arm so a Granada spindle and discs is a slam dunk. My focus on the ranchero is to make it a presentable parts runner, so it won't be getting much more than running and a coat of paint. I discovered most of the trim stashed under the foward bed cover. The floor has been replaced from the rear shocks to the firewall with heavier gauge sheet metal. The trans tunnel looks wider than the falcon one, room for a C6 maybe. Maybe the PO was planning something with a little more power but the 6 will suit me fine.

Glad you like what you have, I'm running the Granada disk's and differential myself. Will you be using the Granada master cylinder and proportioning valve for the disk setup?
Enjoy your new project.
Right now all will stay as is. The Falcon is my sons and that means he gets to buy the upgrades. I'm just here for instruction and moral support. He'll be 16, 11-1 and just wants a driver for school. He has suggested we need to put the 460 I have in my unibody so he can have the 302 thats in it now. He even asked if the 460 could fit in a falcon. I gave him the standard rodder answer. With a torch some steel and a welder anything can be made to fit.
