OK here's the story. I was telling my honey earlier this evening about a commercial Ford had out in the late 80's or early 90's. They teamed up with energizer. The little pink bunny was running through the dessert and the voice over says "Nothing can stop an Energizer". At that time a Ford truck runs the poor rabbit over and the voice over says- "Well almost nothing. Have you driven A Ford lately?". Now she doesn't believe me that this was a real commercial. I only remember seeing it run a couple of times before it got yanked. Does anybody else remember it? I've searched the web for hours and came up dry. Should I see a therapist? Help me please!
I do remember it, it came out at 9pm on friday, monday morning the energizer bunny people were filing a court papers to get it stopped but ford had it yanked at 6am monday morning so no issue. it was a market trick that Ford knew would get them into trouble but played it like a fiddle. It started out as the typical energizer commercial that started as a different commercial then the bunnny goes through the middle of the commercial, and just as it's saying "it keeps going, and goi....." the ford truck runs it over and pans back to show the truck commercial says" built Ford tough"
I remember it too, and as monsterbaby said, Energizer wasn't on board for it and did get highly peeved. So Ford yanked it. But people were talking about it for quite awhile. Woulda made a great Super Bowl commercial.
YOU ARE NOT CRAZY! I saw the energizer being run over by Ford Commercial!

I saw this commercial and it was so funny and very disappointed when the commercial was pulled. Peoe thought I made it up. Thanks for posting.
There were lots of goofy car commercials back then. I remember several variations of trucks being dropped from above the field of view, a weird one about a cheap car with some creepy twins asking if it had a motor, and then the AMC Jeep commercials in the mid 80s, you could almost hear the announcer begging you to buy something-
