Frame Spacing ??
Would like specific info... am restoring a '75 F-250 SC LWB.

I work for a ford dealership in colorado as a mechanic and i want rear disk brakes on my '79 so i started measuring trucks to find something that will transfer. I measured a 2000 sd and the frame is the same width as mine. I think that a '75 LWB is a different spacing than mine though. The idea that i was having is axle swaps but the steering links are far different. if you wanted to change it you would need everything from a new truck including steering links. steering box, brake booster, and mastercylinder, I believe that the power steering pumps are more advanced also to improve handling at high speeds unfortunatly the new trucks use serpentine belts instead of v-belts but you might be able to make the old style work. It would be most cost effective to get a rolled SD from a wrecking company and just use it for whatever parts you need. If you decide to go that rout i believe that with some ingenuity it is possible to set a old body on a new truck chassis. This is the direction i am headed because that power stroke would make my truck very unusual not to mention ABS, 4wheel disk brakes, air conditioning, Etc. I am very into old truck style but i would love the luxuries of the new trucks. i am finding that wheel bolt patterns differ as well as many things here and there. Unless you are looking for a total conversion this might be a dead end.
