Ok Just wondering what is the widest tire and rim combo, I can put on my 65 F-100. Ok then say I wanted to go big, anyone with any websites on tubbing a 65 f-100. I have tubbed several cars working at a racing fab shop, but have never tackled a F-100. The body work part to the bed is no problem, its just the frame, I need help with. Thanks
If you move the leaf spring mounts to the inside of the frame it will open up a lot of space without even cutting the frame. At least 4" per side. For a sleeper look, get wheels with lots of offset to use all that new room and not even narrow the rearend. From the outside will look stock. They won't know any difference till yoo are in front of them.
Ok that makes sense, and seems pretty easy. I have one question, moving the leaf spring mount to the inside is possible, but there are frame supports along the inside. Do I move these around a little. there are two parallel supports with the rear and the front mounts for the leaf springs. I am pretty handy with a torch and a mig welder. Just remove the supports, to a new place and reweld the leaf spring mounts on the inside of the frame. Ok has anyone seen this or done it. Is there and bad things associated with this. Is it worth the work, or am I going somewhere I should no venture, and leave it alone. The main rason I am doing this is a want wider tire, without cutting the frame. Please let me know.
