No blowby. Q? Does the PCV valve assembly contain a baffle? IS this the same as the element? I have never changed this if I have it? WHat is that- similar to a filtering device? I do not know if the 96 has this. I had a guy at work tells me that all 351 W, C 5.8 have the plug type element that lies below the grommet that youcant see and it needs to be pulled out - He actually does engine work and showed me what looked like a plug with filtering debris in it? Heck who knows.

Depends GREATLY on your ability but I would say around 6 hours, at least. Here is a hint to save you some time though: Leave the fuel rail in place when you unbolt the manlfold. Just disconnect it and the associated wiring and leave it attached. You will also need a special torx to remove one of the bolts on the upper intake. They ake a specail tool but you can use a 1/4" sized socket, with the appropriate torx on it to get the bolt out. A 3/8" won't fit into the area that you need to get into.

If engine is dry (no leaks) and your using as much oil as say .(how many miles a month) PCV valve might be bad and push little oil into air box. May have rings going bad. But I can't say in your case for sure. I actually had oil running out of bottom of air box when took apart. #8 cylinder was trashed. I had a new 95 F150 4x4 302 5sd that used qt oil every change . And when guy I sold to sold it (150000) , It still was useing around change . I don't have emmisions tasting so can't say what will happen. Good luck
