well yall, like to ask yall's advice once more, got this 79 ford f-250 with a 400, got to foolin with it the other day and was gonna play with the timing a little, but the damn stibutor is stuck in the block, i took the hold down completely off, beat it a little but i have had experience in the past with breakin the housing doin this, my 91 had a hex on the uppper part of the freakin housing, my question is, how do i go about gettin it unstuck, without resorting to the bfh (that's read big ****in hammer)
Try p.b. blaster penetrating oil. When I got a dist.for my truck from the junkyard I had to hit the bottom with a wrench, try to twist it and pry upon it with a pipe and after 15-20 min I finally did something right and it came out.
When you finally do get it off, put some anti-seize on it before you put it back in so you don't have the same problem again in the future. Same goes for the bolts that hold in the locking hubs on the front axle of a 4x4. I use is all over my truck.
If he uses Corr block it works the same as anti-seize but, it won't wash off.
But if he doesn't then anti-seize is the best thing.
How is Corrosion Block Different?
Corrosion Block is the marine version of ACF-50. It is a state-of-the-art, anti-corrosion compound specially formulated to perform in the extremes of the marine environment. Corrosion Block has five superior features:
1. It is a superior anti-corrosion compound.
2. It kills corrosion in progress.
3. It prevents new corrosion cells from forming for 24 months.
4. It is an excellent penetrant.
5. It is an excellent light lubricant.
Corrosion Block can be described as a clean, clear, ultra-thin fluid which leaves a non-greasy atmospheric barrier to protect the base metal on interior surfaces. Corrosion Block leaves no gummy residue because it contains no wax, resin, tar, asphalt, silicone or teflon. It can be sprayed, or wiped on with a damp rag. Corrosion Block will actively penetrate the corrosion on the surface of the metal, and, in the process, isolate it electrically from the base metal. Once the Corrosion Block has penetrated into the corrosion cell, it displaces and/or emulsifies and encapsulates any moisture present in the cell and bringing it to the surface where it evaporates. Corrosion Block then fills the cell, with a 40 KV dielectric barrier to prevent further moisture contact with the base metal for up to 24 months.
