Smile $$$ Well Spent

4 years ago my truck was struck by lightning, towed it to the dealer and they replaced the TPS and CPS. Ran fine with an occasional electrical gremlin. Just before I joined here CPS started going out again and warranty was expired was very busy and had to take it to dealer (ouch) well they said it was shorts in the sensor and main harness cost ~$2500. Joined here learned a little and did the fix myself. Total cost ~1300 including the cost of a copy of Autoenginuity and an AIS intake. $15 investment returned $1200 in 2 months.

Thanks alot Guys & Gals ... Hope I can return the help yall heve provided

I can't even tell you how much I've saved in the past year or so. It makes me sick to think about all the money I spent at the dealership over the years! Where else can $15 go so far! Not only are we saving money, we be gettin' educated too!

This site has saved me a ton of money as well. Take for instance the outboard seals and front bearing replacement I did. Got the knowledge and help from FTE. The parts ran me about $150, but I'm told that having all that done at the dealer would have been over $600. Well worth my $15 spent here.

I think we all know this forum has probably cost us money, I guess it depends upon how you do the math. Most of us also have vehicles that are far superior to what we started with. Again, money well spent!

I have to say that FTE has not saved me any money, but the money that I spent was not wasted on mistakes that I could have made in my ignorance.
I think that I learned a few things early on that created a breeding ground for PMS!
