Weird Tranny Problem
Hello all,
I'm new to Ford trucks, but have worked on my vehicles for years. OK, hears the deal: '01 F-250 ran fine, made grinding noise at idle and stalled. Grinding went away as well as the stall. Now after sitting overnight, the truck barely wants to move when put in gear (automatic). After going about a block, it takes off and shifts fine and will continue to all day even after parked for several hours. The next morning it doesn't want to go again. It does this everyday. Any clues?

Mine did that at the 65,000 mile mark.
Wife called said the truck wouldn't go.
I show up, put it in gear and drive just fine.
Then the problem happened again...along with the noise.
Two days later, catastrophic failure.....broken **** rattling around in the transmission. Very little in the transmission was salvageable.
