I am removing a 4" suspension lift from my early 99 F250 SD. I need to know if my track bar would happen to be stock or aftermarket. Could someone give me a measurement on a stock bar? Thanks.
I have no idea what kind of lift it is. I bought the truck from a dealer used and it had the lift on it.
The reason I am removing it and going back to stock is because I am tired of bouncing down the street. And yes, I am getting old.
After looking at the steering setup from my truck and comparing it to another stock truck, I believe that whoever put the lift on, didn't bother to drop the steering or the track bar. Both the track bar and the steering link bar angle upward and are not flat like a stock truck.
I put a 4" Super Lift on my 2000 F250 about 3 months ago. I notice absolutly no difference in the ride. I drove the truck for three years stock, I drove it with stock tires and big tires, ride has always been the same.
I would be interested in a stock track bar bracket and also the stock 2" rear blocks. The truck is an early '99 F250 SD Supercab Longbox Powerstroke. I have tried several salvage yards around and they don't keep these parts when they dismantle.
I called them this afternoon. $51 for each block not including u-bolts. Which is just outrageous!! So I am going to do some measuring and put Autocad to work.
Well, I have successfully removed the lift from my truck and returned it to stock. I put on four new Monroe Reflex shocks and I cannot believe how well this thing rides. I am very happy with the results. The track bar bracket was indeed the stock bracket.
I have a question. I got the front springs from a salvage yard. They are suppose to be a code U which is what the VIN calls for. Well, the rear hangers on the front springs are cocked way back like the spring is too long. Is this normal? Also, the spring has a slight upward arch as opposed the downward arch of the lift kit spring. Is this also normal? I am sure the salvage yard springs are a little tired. But I just wanted to check. Thanks.
sounds like you have the same problem as i had before. my old springs were junk, sagging almost a full 3 inches!! the ones i replaced them with came from the boneyard aswell. so you might have just gotten a tired set.
