Windshield washer switch

Hey yall, I have a 97 f-250 4wd lariat with the 5.4. I also had a 97 expedition and had the same problem. My windshield washer fluid switch only works when it wants to. I push in on it and the wipers come on but no fluid. Its full and everything is connected so seeing this is the second 97 i had with this problem is this a known issue? what can i do to fix it cheap and easy?

try this thread out:

probably, the switch needs some attention or replacement.

Reffering to the link above:

Use a thin sharp knif to pop the cap on the end off, my '99 has this cap (though it is hard to see). It is the smooth cap on the end, the line to pry on is in between this smooth cap and the rest of the switch that moves in and out (the part with "traction lines"). You may notice 2 lines (ver" close together) with a step, it will be the outermost line. Hard to see and hard to describe, pretty simple once you figure it out though. Hope that made some kind of sense...

If that doesn't fix it and you aren't getting power to the motor, you probably will need to replace the multi-function switch (turn signal, washer etc) as a whole.
