I believe that there was some difference in strength between the different AOD's depending on what vehicle they came in and what year. I think the Mustang and truck transmissions were a little heavier duty than some of the others -- may want to check before spending your $$.

What major problems would I have by putting in an AOD instead of a C4? Since gas mileage would be much better in the AOD, I would rather go that route. If it is harder and includes much more mechanical expertise to this, then the AOD would not be a good option for me.
Would it be the same as the C4?
More specifics would be great before I consider this- I will be putting in the 302with auto tranny this summer, within the month hopefully.

the AOD will fit where the C4 was. Major problem with the AOD is getting the kickdown lever preload set right. Instructions are pretty vague. I used a kickdown from Lokar and they supplied excellent instructions as how to set it. It sure is nice to drop 30% of my RPM's at highway speeds.
