2001 SD dash removal

I need to get at the gauge cluster in my 2001 F-350, how far into it I am not sure yet ( I have wierd electric issues that I hope are being caused by moisture plus dust) I did a search and found some threads but am confused. It would appear that I can remove the front or ourside by simply pulling it off then to remove thje cluster itself i need to follow the instructions in this thread? Is that right. Sorry for the retardation here.

I think you might find that there are two screws above the radio opening that have to come out after the radio comes it (radio is first, it clips into dash suround) Themjust pull off the face.

That link says it all. It's actually alot easier than it sounds. I've had mine off a bunch of times for the stereo install, remote start and alarm. Just be careful unclipping the wire harnesses. If you don't push the clips in just right they can break. I just use a small flat head screw driver and gentley pull on the wires.Once you get your radio out and the two screws in that opening the dash pulls apart real easy. It will take a good amount of gentle pulling but it will come off. Then you will see the instrument cluster and the screws for it. Goodluck
