Unhappy could it be ?

could it be sticking injectors ? put in new injectors ,pump, return lines about 2500 miles ago.A week ago i went out to start it up it took off on the first roll. But it smoked white until it reached normal running temp. it skipped ,rattled, rocked and rolled untill it was hot then it runs great ,but cold yiu can not drive away with it ,it hammers realy bad, almost like acouple of cyclenders are firing way befor top center.like to have somebody else too comfirm my beliefs.checked for air in the system but found none!

Could be a bad injector do the routine of cracking the line 1/2 turn on top of each injector and see if that makes any difference then move to the next one (engine running). Any that make significant difference are usually OK any that do not are the bad ones.

you say you replaced the Injection pump.... how did you set the timing?

I agree it sounds like a timing issue, when the timing is advanced while the engine is cold, the timing is even more advanced than what you have it set at.

you might have a bad glow plugs causing the white smoke til its warmed up. could also be a timing problem. if it just started this nonsense, try using a heavy dose of standyne performance fuel additive to free up the timing piston in the pump.
the newer low sulfur fuels require additive in each tank fillup to compensate for the lack of lubrication to the internals of the pump and injectors.
when you installed the injection pump, did you line up the stake marks onthe mounting flange and the pump flange? You dont want them too far apart to change the timing.
