I am not an expert on this, so hope some listee who knows more can help you, but in the meanwhile:

- the article they are *probably* talking about is
https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...ND_BRONCO.html
but it's apparently for 92-96 (I'll be using it for my '92, but don't know if applies to your 2003)
I think I've seen this procedure in the Haynes manual, maybe your model year is covered in Haynes?

- I've seen articles for trucks that speedos are changed by changing a speedo gear. You can search & find a bunch of postings on this at misc/siteindex-forums.php , one example article w some pics is "Ford F150 - Recalibration". Again, don't know if applies to your van/year.

Anyway, don't know if this stuff helps, so hope some other listees can confirm more directly what's up w your van's speedo

Hey, from your post in our other thread, I thought you were already running 33" tires (but narrower)? If so, how come you need to change the speedo? Anyway, see the other thread, would sure appreciate it if you gave details on your tall tires &/or lift.

Sorry for the late reply, but Ive checked out the threads abd I guess that since I dont have a digital speedo it's a matter of changing the gears(Im asuming on the tranny somewhere). If thats true I probably wont bother with it.

But about my tires they are on factory 15x7.5 steel wheels and are 33x9.5x15 bfg all terrains. which is a skinnier tire than you will normally see. I only have a 3" lift in the rear(which was done a while back because Im always loaded and the van used to sag). I also did it expecting to lift the front at the same day, but for one reason or another it never got done(plus the parts where for a 4x4 f-series...accident) Ill probablly get wider tires once i lift the front with new wheels(I need the offset to fit wider wheels) simply to better off road performance.

Now dont get the wrong idea, I don't take a 2wd fully loaded van off roading for pleasure, its a matter of me getting stuck going to my customers properties. With that said the next van I get will definatley be 4x4 to almost eliminate my chances of getting stuck.

I love these tires, my last set which were 30.5x9.5x15 bfg all terrain gave me 87,000 miles before i felt they needed replacing. (I would estimate 75% highway driving) The difference from switching from factory tires to the bfg's probably allowed me access to 70% of the properties that I couldn't travel to before(mostly after a good rain of coarse), and now with a little more experience and some ballsy attempts I have almost no lost appointments.

Sorry for the long reply, but thank you for your posts, they really helped, and if anyone knows where to get a lift kit for my van please let me know.(the 2wd is what's making it difficult)

Thanks again
Charles

thanks, your reply is not too late, I'm going in to talk tires tomorrow. Hopefully, the 31" BFG's will fit without any lift.

I plan to eventually get a limited slip device for the rear end, have you thought about that? Seems a lot cheaper than 4x4 for modest off-pavement stuff.

Here's a link a listee sent me earlier, maybe helpful for your lift, especially if you plan to be in california anytime soon...
http://www.camburg.com/fordsESeriesVanP.html

(hmmm, so you stuffed 33x9.5's into an unmodified E150 front end, that surprises me. Seems like there's even more clearance in the rear, so I guess it's possible to put these tires on a factory E150 if you don't mind the skinny rubber)

thanks again!

yeah its definately posible to put 33's on a stock van, again if you don't mind the skinny tires. These new tires(about a month old, 1500 miles) have really improved the offroad handlig on my van. I have to drive through several long dirt roads here in florida and they can get kind of muddy during the rainy season (pretty much all year round). Its never really extreme mud, exept for last weekend. A buddy of mine is building a "mudhole" on his property for fun, well somehow he convinced me to pull him out last weekend, because he had to go to work. I figuired that if I could get out to him then where i would be pulling him from I should be okay. Well pulling out I knew would be tough, but the part that amazed me is that he lied to me about how deep the trail was getting out to his truck. I got him out fine and I also manage to safely drive through some pretty wicked stuff.

Anyway I really like these tires and yes I probably will look into getting limited slip. I have seen cambergs site before, I was looking at their lift kits which id like to get. Im gonna look at the link you gave me as well. Thanks again for al the info...good luck

Charles
