Stepside bed floor ideas
After a year of work off and on, my 77 F100 goes for paint in two weeks. Now we start to put it back together. I like the look of a wood floor but I want to do some light hauling from time to time. Has anyone given any thought to the composite wood used in deck construction? This would not look as nice as real wood but would hold up much better than real wood. I think it would look better than a metal floor.
This site has helped me through some rough spots. Thanks to everyone who posts and most of all to those of you with experience that respond. I will set up a gallery when I get it back from the painter.

They also make an enamel clear coat. It is mostly used for creative wooden projects. It is darn near unscratchable. Really. I saw it on a clock made out of a slice of tree stump. It didnt scratch easily...and what a shine!!!!
I also also saw a guy had a 56 ford. He had put in a piece of oak paneling, or plywood and coated it, then put down polished aluminum or stainless strips on top of it. It looked better than the original flooring due to the woodgrain matching throughout.
I am going to convert my full size 73 to a wood floor and use hickory. Hickory is hard wood. It will dull a chain saw in a heartbeat. Stained and varnished it will (hopefully) look good. You can get that at saw mills and specialty lumber shops.
