hello,i am new here but not new to fords.i have had mostly mustangs...like 1000 and about 8 trucks.i have had a couple non ford bodied but ford powered trucks and cars.one was a 89'mazda b2200 with a 375rwhp 306 in it.i am currently building a 78'F100 swb that has a 302,C6 and a 9".i will be rebuilding the motor to a 331 stroker.it will get a EFI conversion and have a little power enhancer....a 60mm turbo.
Welcome aboard. It sounds like a detailed project. Keep us posted, there may be some wannabe rodders watching and even a few offroaders interested. 'Njoy.
will do.i pulled the motor today and replaced it with a DSS built 331 stroker short block with AFR 185 heads.i am waiting on the turbo to get here......thats been changed alittle.it will be a 76mm now.i'll be running around 20psi boost.this should be good for about 650-700rwhp.i had a s/c 331 at 14psi boost and it made 525 rwhp.so that is a realistic number.anyway this what i have done so far.
well, here is what i have done so far.the truck is powered by a 331 topped off by AFR 185 heads and a 80mm turbo.this thing is a monster!!!!!its quiet, the turbo only makes noise when your spanking some unexpecting hot rod or import.this morning a guy in a Z28...about a 00'-01' came up beside me at a red light and started powerbraking...i asked him if he want to run'em...he LAUGHED!!!! light turned green we launched......at the next light he said"what to hell do you have in that thing"....i laughed and said just a small block ford.the funny thing is i beat him by about 6 car lenghs.it was priceless.the truck has a dented right front fender, needs paint,no tailgate.it just looks like an old farm truck with drag radials.
my mustang quit on me thats why i had to put my truck on the road...but as soon as i fix the stang it'll come off the road again and getting done right.the body and interior fixed. i think i'll go buy a new camara this weekend so i can post pics....later
