I just purchased a used (2001) Excursion, about a week after I got it the info center(Temp, Direction, Milage etc.) quit working, It will work sometimes but most of the tome it is off. I was told it would cost about $100.00 to have the diagnostic run to find the short, that does not include fixing it, Has anyone had this problem, does any one have any suggestions??
Pull the over-head console down. I cannot remember if it just pulls down (with a bit of force) or if there are two bolts behind the garage door opener door thingy.
Well, not matter...you still pull it down with a bit of force. Just check for bolts first.

Once down, unplug and replug.
Actually, it's just one tiny screw holding that thing in place. It's held up by the snaps or whatever that require some force to let go of the console.
