My truck was rear ended and frame bend just behind the rear axle (before the farthest rear leafspring mount). So crap. Would this affect lifting it at all? For body or suspension. I figure susp would be fine since the stock leaf stacks are. What about body lift. How far back are those body mounts?
Frame damage is a big issue for me as well. I know a few people have successfully straightened a frame with little or no issues, but IMO once the frame is bent a vehicle is never the same again. As far as advice goes, being that the frame wont be as strong and safe, I would agree with Nathane and say ditch it.
my shorty was hit in the rear and it caused the rearend to become out of square.i ended up putting a new frame from ford under it .cost me 900$ for the frame ,took 2 days to change it.i know why the frames get bent so easly.the shipping weight was only 375 lbs.

That sounds like it could be worth it. Ill put some pics up tomorrow. The bend is not in a horrible spot, but it is a bend none the less. Doesnt look like it's in a position to mess with tire wear, but who knows.
I'm thinking I'm prob better off just waiting and buying anew truck.

Now you can turn this truck into whatever you want it to be. According to insurance, potential buyers, and general knowledge....your truck is totalled.
Go ahead and make it your beater. Lift it, lock it, and 'wheel it hard! Cut the fenders, ditch the bed, tube chassis, roll cage, 44" Boggers....

You get the idea!
Haha yea...let me just whip that 10k outta my wallet...
I still need a DD though. I'll prob just drive this one til she drops. Or until I win the lottery...
Frame damage does not necessarilly "total" anything------A ____good____ frame shop should be able to fix you right up. I do agree with some of the guys that if the damage was in the suspension area that a high lift and the resulting extra "twist" to the frame may be a problem for off road use. Straightening would leave the area a little weaker, but it is the accepted way to do it--it is done on thousands of vehicles every day!
