my defrost blows
I have a 2001 Sport Trac and only my defrost blows air no matter what position the selector switch is in. The temperature function works fine and switches correctly from cold to hot and when the selector switch is in the off position everything shuts down.

You have lost vacuum to the HVAC system; defrost is the default mode when there is no vacuum. Start by looking under the hood for a loose vacuum hose that leads to the HVAC system; in general that hose should be located on the passenger side firewall.
