If I need one my dealer will hook me up with one. Hell I had my truck in for the 30K service and they gave me a loaner for the day until my truck was finished.
I was told I don't get a rental or loaner car, but that may have jsut been the dealer I bought the truck from. I have the extended plan to 75K, but it's not the fanshiest smanshiest one, just powertrain. That could have something to do with it.
I guess it depends on the dealership. Mine will give a loaner if I make arrangements for it. The bad part is it's usually a focus or some sardine can car.
I know of one dealer that uses superdutys as loaner vehicles.
Personally I think everyone should get a loaner that is comp. to what you are driving. It's great advertisement for future buyers. My sister owns a Lexus that she bought used. Whenever she takes it in for service they give her a brand new model. What a great way to drive sales. The longer you drive that new vehicle the more you convence yourself you need to buy it. Granted not everyone will buy one but I am sure alot of sales are produced because of this.
Seems to me that it would pay for itself for a dealer to give free loaners.
just my .02$
My dealer didnt want to give me a loaner when I had to bring it in for warranty work and they kept it for several days. I did have an extended warranty. I convinced them to lend me one though. It was a tin can but all I needed was some wheels to get to work in so I didnt care.
I guess it just depends on if they want to or not.
my dealer will give me one but like gpeade said mine was a focus which is alright i guess but im 6'5" so it was kinda of a tight fit. I wanted them to give me a truck but they said that dont give trucks as loaners bc normally people bring back the loaners empty and it costs a little more to fill up a F150 then it does a Focus which makes sense i guess but i still think they should lend you what you gave to them to work on oh well i took the focus back empty
My dealer gives me a loaner if they have to keep my truck over night. I hate getting in the Taurus after getting out of my truck. But then again, no other dealer I've ever dealt with has ever given me loaners. So, Yay Taurus!

Thanks ReForder!
It's good to know someone else enjoys the "Grail"! That line is one of my favorites!
