Were both of these pickups assembled at the same plants? with the same basic parts? What, if any , are the major differences?
How about VIN # and warranty data for the Merc?
I ran across a chance for a 66 merc. pickup- cheap, motor is bad.
So I am wondering if this is worth some time, or a parts nightmare?
Thank You,
OwenB

As far as the #'s go, I can't help there but I would definatly pick up the truck if it's cheap. Mercury's are getting harder to find since most were shipped north and rusted out in the snow.

Owen, All of the Mercurys were built in Canada, and have different badging but share the same parts. So any upgrading would be no problem.

The badges are getting a little scarce, and a good tailgate is very hard to find. But, if it is a "real" Merc, it's worth saving. All of our trucks are becoming more rare as the years pass; the Mercs especially so.
