Guess it's time for an update. Ken is sending me some goodies. I have others I will contact also. Dash plaques will be easy and I'll get working on those next month.

I'll get a location poll up after the date poll ends tomorrow.

Looks like Saturday October the 7th is the date. Now we need a location. It has been sugested that we go to Gates BBQ. I have never been there but Authur Bryant's was great when I went a few years ago. They say there is very little parking at the old original Bryant's location and I went to the one at the Ameristar Casino. They have TV so the football games will be on. First come and serve on the steating. You go through a line to get your food and they had some really great beer I had never heard of before. I'll call to see if they have a smoking section.

Ryan I'm not good on the KC area. Could you provide some more info on the Gates BBQ place? Address would be good and I can call them and ask about smoking sections ect.

I found this link also: http://www.rbjb.com/rbjb/bbq.htm

Looks like the date will be Saturday October 14th for the south GTG. Now we need to decide on a location.

Joplin, MO, KS Rocks (Ft. Scott, KS area) and Baxter Springs, KS have been suggested. I've been looking at the map and Grand Lake looks pretty good. Need some help from the Arkansas folks. The only thing I see that looks like it might work is maybe Chambers Hollow area. East of Siloam Springs. I'm just working off some old Delorme map software so any help would be welcome. Give me some more ideas and we'll get a location poll going.

Ok so far we have the locations lised below for the KC GTG. Any other suggestions?

Gates web site: www.gatesbbq.com These locations have rooms we can reserver. There is no smoking (of cigars ect...) inside the restaurant. They have a full bar for drinks and beer.

Gates Paseo (Listed as 1325 E. Emanuel Clever Rd.)
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...y=US&geodiff=1

Gates Main St.
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...y=US&geodiff=1

Gates US 40
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...y=US&geodiff=1

Arthur Bryants web site: www.arthurbryantsbbq.com This is a cafeteria style place to get your food. They have Blvd. Pale Ale and Budweiser beer. They have a smoking section.

Arthur Bryants Ameristar

I'll run a poll starting next week. I'll count all of the Gates BBG votes as a vote for Gates and we'll try to get the location with most votes. I'll put an other in also.

HappyJack is doing a great job putting this together. Anyone from our chapter planning on attending the Kansas City meet?

For the folks thinking about the south GTG: Last weekend for the poll. Right now it's tied between Siloam Springs (one of the votes dose not count) and Neosho with KS Rocks just one vote back. So if you have been waiting to vote nows the time. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...tion-poll.html

I have stickers, 8 shirts, two books, stickers, tool accessories, video games/computer accessory, stickers, vehicle accessories, Koozies, stickers and some pins. I'll add a few gift certificates and dash plaques. And a few other items if I can.

I'll have packets with goodies for the first 15 trucks that show up. Packets will have a dash plaque for the event, stickers, and other items such as pens, or pins, key chains, koozie ect.... I will also enclose a raffle ticket in the packet for a drawing for the shirts and other items. Additional tickets will be available.

I plan to have the KS. chapter banner set up. Other chapters are welcome to display a banner.

I plan to drive to the area that wins the location poll next week and make final arrangements. It was brought up that an outdoors location would be our first choice so we can have more time and activities. I will get an indoor location as a back up. Just in case the weather does not want us to have this outside.

I'm really looking forward to this.

I'm going to change what I posted earlier about the first 15 trucks. We had talked about car or truck pooling to this event so it should be the first 15 FTE members.

For those planning to attend the KC GTG: Looks to me that Gates won the poll. One vote for Paseo, two for Hwy 40 and one other for 103rd and State Line. I will call tomorrow and see what I can find out. Unless I get others that want to change it to 103rd and State Line Rd. I'll go ahead and make arangements for the Hwy 40 location.
