I've found a 2003 red FX4 supercab i'm interested in. It's got the 5.4L auto with only 30K on the clock. Body is in excellent shape as well as the interior. Dealer wants $17K which is way below kelly blue book for this truck. What do you think?

 

Sounds like a great deal. I just ran my truck thru KBB.com and came up with $16,500(dealer sale price/ $13,700 private party). I have an 01 Lariat with 135,000 miles.

I'd ask the dealer why it's so far below blue book. Typically the dealers are going to start pretty high so they have room to move down.

Dealers offering vehicles for less than they should sounds a little suspicious. Katrina comes to mind.

A little indepth research would be in order- Carfax or some similar service.

yeah i just bought a 2003 f150 supercrew fx4 4x4 with 40,000 and love the truck, this is the first fullsize truck i ever owned, i always owned rangers and explorers you cant go wrong, mine is getting new exhaust, cold air kit and diablo sport programmer

 

How much did you pay for your 03 Jeremy?

If its any help I bought mine in 04 for $14,000 it had 67,000 on it then.

 

The $3.00 gas and slow truck sales may be why it's priced so low. Then again it could be bad news like Pilot10 said. Is it a Ford dealer selling it? If it's at a Ford dealer you get a pretty good warranty on Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles. Sounds like it's worth a good look anyway.

i payed 19,000 it is load and it the bright red vermilloin color no a flaw on it it has the bed liner soft toneau cover, every one tells me thats its a sweet looking truck . love it
