Cluster Swap

so in all my searching the answer is: if you have a non-tach vehicle and desire to swap a used cluster with a tach in its place-you must go to the phord dealership and have them reset the pats. is this correct? anybody got a work around? this is a 2002 4.6 xl.

they dont want you installing an odometer with less miles. thats why it needs to be reset by FORD. no work around as far as i know.

There is ONE alternative. Bring the keys and all the lock cylinders from the donor truck along with the cluster when the transplant is done.
