Just within this past week my 6.0L has been cranking much more than usual to get started after sitting overnight or two. I would say it cranks at least twice as long as it did before. I know the 6.0L cranks longer than my old 7.3 did but this is getting worse. It also was pulsating a small amount at idle, even after having been and up to temperature. You could see the rpm fluctuate only an `1/8 of an inch up and down from normal idle but you could hear the changing sound. Does anyone know if this is something I should get checked out? Or could this just be a case of bad fuel? There are no indicator lights or warnings, no water in fuel light or anything to indicate a problem.
Any ideas before I run off to see a Ford Tech?
Thanks
first guess---egr valve---second, look how long it is between your dash oil pressure gauge showing pressure and it starting(not accurate, but its close), third guess---injector trouble.

Can't offer a solution. But my 04 has some of the same symptoms. No check engine lights.Runs fine after starting.Except for the 3 occassions it stalled ,but immediately restarted. Not trying to hijack your thread..Dan
How's the power output? You mentioned RMP fluctuation at idle: All I can say is my 2005 E-450 ambulance did the same thing and it was a stuck injector causing a miss. The main complaint was a lack of power (the thing weighs 11,500lbs and is as aerodynamic as a refridgerator). The dealership seemed like stuck injectors were common on the 6.0. Has anyone else had problems?
raptor---the injectors operate with high pressure engine oil, if you dont have oil pressure, it wont start. medic108---my brother is an ambulance director in alabama, he called me with the same lack of power concern you mentioned, his ended up being poor oil change intervals, they changed oil, problem solved.
