'97 Explorer Oil Pressure Indicator
Quick question, I have '97 Explorer (4.0 EFI) with 129K miles. Recently had a full tune-up. Noticed that the Oil Pressure indicator is between the middle and "Low" level--think a quarter tank of gas. No visible oil leaks on the engine or ground, the dipstick is showing full oil, and the color/consistency is normal.
Any thoughts--a faulty oil pressure indicator perhaps.

Try smacking the top of the dash near the guage. My 95 does the same thing and smacking the dash brings the needle up. It's my understanding (at least on the 95), it really isn't a true 'pressure' guage. It's more like an 'on/off' guage. It either senses that you have pressure or you don't.
