DipStick

Which direction is this dipstick supposed to go? I can remember where the tab was bolted.

P.S. I bought the Fram before I started reading about the Wix and Rotella T, it will only be on during the break-in period. I'll paint it a different color if you'd like.

The tab on that style dipstick tube should probably bolt to the front of the cylinder head. There are others that bolt to the first exhaust manifold bolt.

It might fit the front of the head, but not the exhaust manifold. Or so it seems.

I'm thinking that I must have bent the tube getting it out, because it is smack dab in the middle of the exhaust port and only about 1 inch from it.

My old one mounted on the exhaust manifold flange, the manifold went on first. There may have been a stud at one time, I think I just ran a bolt after it broke. There is a lot of wiggle room at the end of the dip tube, you just have to putz around a little.

On the front side? I'm prolly just going to go to the head, because I am putting headers back on.
