'55 F600 heater core

My uncle has a 1955 F600 that his father bought new. It's been a great truck around his farm for all these years, but recently the heater stopped working. Someone came out to look at it, removed the heater core, and said he needed a new one. The problem is, nobody can figure out where to get one. Does anyone know where to get a part like this? The heater is in the passenger footwell, and with some things I've been reading about the F100 vs. F600, maybe they would use the same one...? Does anyone know where I can get this so he doesn't freeze again this winter :-)

thanks,
Brian

Mine didn't have a heater at all when I got it.

I used one from a 55 F-100.

Just about everything cab/doors/hood (not fenders) for the F-600 is interchangeable with the F-100/250/350

except of course the heavier stuff like the wheels, brakes axles etc.

Regards,

Rick

By the way you can replace the heater motor with a new one from any large autoparts store.

Just take the old one in and match it up with one in their Siemans catalog. There's pictures and dimensions etc. Your's is converted to 12v? ( think I saw 6v motors in there too)

For the heater core, If you think it's plugged, take the old one to a radiator shop and have them fix it. It's like rebuilding a radiator. It might only need to be flushed out.

You may or may not be able to buy one at NAPA or others.

Cheers,

Rick
