I have a '94 Tbird and the paint looks great other than some rockchips on the front of the hood. The car has a couple of dings here and there, but overall, a great looking solid car. i washed it today and noticed that the clearcoat is starting to come off on top behind the sunroof. is there anything i can go buy aftermarket to spray on it to help it last about another year. next year the car is getting painted (hopefully) and dont want it looking like crap until then.
Not much you can do other than sand it and put some more clear on the area if the clear is coming off. It would be a temporary job. You would probably see where the new clear and the existing clear overlap.
Not sure if it would work on your paint, but I'd use a bit of rubbing compound and a lot of water on a soft wet cloth. Personally, I don't want a clear coat. I want a good solid coverage with an Emeron or Epoxy based paint. That WILL be more $$, but worth it. If you get a light scratch - just rub it out - no clearcoat to peel off later.
true, but i have factory paint on it right now, and just need to keep it looking good till sometime next year when i can afford to get it painted right.
