Has anyone changed their ICP and IPR just to see if they've gotten anymore performance out of them?? I've lost a little power and am going to order Beans Injectors but was wanting to change those first to see if that helps anything out. My truck has 187k was thinking it would be good to change out anyways. Should I get the injectors or try these first?? thanks.
well usually the icp when it goes bad gives you a stumble and poor running truck due to not telling the pcm the right hpo rail pressure. and the ipr's rarely go bad and when they do its mostly the orings that are shot that makes starting when the truck is warm a pita.
you can unplug the icp and see if your truck runs better with it unplugged if it does it is time for a new one. now the ipr if unplugged your truck shouldnt run if it does you have issues there.
the sensor will still be the same as what you have in there now. ford and IH will not change their senosrs over time to get "more power" out of them. if they work they don't change the design. so unless you having problems with one of them the new ones won't be different.
cool. I was just concerned that if something wasn't right with them they might burn up the injectors. I tried calling Beans yesterday (Sat 8-12) but he must be closed on the weekends too. Also a local diesel garage told me $400 to take out and install the new injectors. Going with the tranny savers, after that maybe a bank 1.0 turbo. Funny thing I put my truck on ebay last friday after a day I took it off. I've been looking at the new duramax but I have 13k in my truck and it still going strong. Plus I'd really miss my truck. It's funny these old trucks get the same looks as the $40K ones do.
