Hey guys..im still trying to figure out my problem with my pickup and I have come to this conclusion: Since my truck works fine in the morning, it works fine after its been sitting for a few hours, it works fine until it gets warm (usually 10 minutes of driving and its warm) thats when it dies at every complete stop I make. I think this is being caused by something to do with my automatic choke not staying engaged long enough and turning off completely and/or too soon when it shouldnt. I know nothing about my automatic choke, and I wish i had a picture but I dont so i will try to describe it to you - It is a "box" shaped thing that is bolted to my fenderwell, it has a vacuum line coming out of it that goes to the carb (i assume), it has the choke cable connected to the carb, and the obvious electrical hookups it needs. DO YOU THINK IT MIGHT JUST BE A BAD AUTOMATIC CHOKE UNIT? If so how much are these to replace usually and does this sound like it might be my problem. I've ruled out a transmission problem, i've ruled out a vacuum leak, and I just replaced my spark plugs 6 months ago (and even if it was them, it wouldnt drive fine like it does driving down the road. It only dies when i come to a complete stop! What the heck!) Im starting to get very aggravated. Please help.

Casey, I am not sure what you are describing, but am sure it isn't the choke. Chokes are mounted on the passenger side of the carb.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
John -
The reason i thought it was a automatic choke is because my manual choke is not even hooked up. This "choke" wire, is connected right above the cable/wire that is connected to the gas pedal. It is hard to understand, I know - but I will get a picture up very soon so maybe you can tell me what it is.
