Zigma's New Truck

here the truck my aunt gave me when she passed away. She passed away after finding out she had cancer. the doc said she had a 75% chance to live, but she passed away in sugery at the age 32.

No one in my family know how to fix cars as well as i do, so the truck was given to me. I am not going to restore the truck, and get done what she started. I hope one day I can then pass this truck on and keep it in the family.
here some photos and a video of a test drive for ya.

This is a 1958 F100, the engine I am told is a Ford 400 V8

here a link to the video

That's a nice looking truck. Welcome to FTE

Also, that's not a Ford 400 engine

EDIT: I think Albuq F-1 is right, it looks like it's a Y-block, of which I know nothing about.

Man, I wish I had an aunt like that!! That is a hell of a truck to start your old truck adventure with!

That engine has me stumped. The two-nut valve covers don't look Chevy, they look Y-block . I'm no expert on late-models tho! Water pump/fuel pump look Chevy all right. But I thought Y-blocks had a front distributor?

BTW I would for sure replace as much as possible of that 3-ft piece of rubber fuel hose with a steel line.

Welcome to FTE!

Nice truck, and welcome to FTE. Looking at the way the water lines come off the intake has me stumped. Certainly not a Ford 400. Also look at the 1-2-1 exhaust pattern.

the steel line is there, but it clug. That rubber hose was a temp fix so i was able to get the truck home. this weekend i am going to use a speed cable and un clog it.

It`s a Y-block complete with headers, better than a dozen chebies
Sweet ride, she must have been a neat aunt. I`m so sorry to hear about the cancer.

I might get laughed at for this, but is it just me or do the Y-blocks look like SBC at first glance? The headers are shaped the same, (the 2-center tubes), the distributor is in the back, (like all SBC), and the valve covers look similar to ones I have seen on SBCs, (the 2-bolts in the top). Even on this block the engine is orange ......

I agree, and it was only the water hoses that dispelled my chevy inclination.
