The shorty boards from a '48-52 F-1 through F-6 will fit your panel. The boards from the earlier '48 to mid '50 will have a wide flange they tucks under the truck so you might have to cut it off, the boards from a post mid '50 don't have the lip. You will have to cut a knotch at the back of them to fit under your truck and fabricate a simple flange:
I took the deminsions from the bracket from the bottom of the panel truck running board. I got the measurements as close as possible but they may not be exact so, I suggest you test fit as you go along. One way to do it is to make a cardboard template and then transfer to sheet metal. You will have to reverse the precedure to make the opposite side.
I PMed you about a set of boards I have.

Here's a picture of the 48-early 50 boards. I'm saving this set for my 51 Panel. I probably won't cut the flange out as it should fit underneath. I'll have to cut out the corner as Bob shows.
i have the drivers side finished, had line x, coat it all the way around. i ordered the rubber pieces that go at the end of the board from dennis carpenter, and they are not exact replica's of the orginal, they are not as tall, so about 3" of the jamb are exposed. not sure how i can remedy that yet

I have a question for you. Were you able to slip your running board in under the body or did you have to raise the body some to get it in there. I have taken two panel trucks apart by first removing the bodies and then the boards. I am in the process of switching chassis on my panels now. The "new" didn't have the boards on it when I got it. They inside the truck.
