Question...what part of the fuel system are the metal lines coming out of the fuel pump module pictured below...
It's not the sending unit...but mine is damaged and I need a new one and I'm not sure that that comes with the fuel pump itself or not...and what it's called if I need to get it separately.
Like I've gone to autozone and asked for a fuel pump and all they'd give me is the white canister w/o the top and metal lines to mount it in the tank.
It should be called the sending unit. The metal lines are for gas to the engine and return gas from the engine. As you have found out, the fuel pump is also attached.
Can't even buy the parts seperately here in Canada, at least not here in Ontario. Ford won't sell you just the pump or the hose/mounting assembly, you have to buy the whole "fuel sending unit" at C$350. Scrap yards give you the whole deal as pictured as well if you buy from them, maybe that's an option for you.
It's tough because some places call that included with the sending unit, and others don't.
There is also the float and switch w/ the float that people consider the sending unit as well.
Like Jeffs Bronco Graveyard sells just the sending unit as the float/switch...where they sell the pump as what is pictured above. If you go to autozone and ask for a pump you don't get that you just get the canister. If you go to LMCtruck they give you those lines w/ the sending unit and float...yada yada...
Yeah, it depends on who makes them. I don't know what the part you're talking about is called. Maybe rockauto.com's catalog will help? They're very comprehensive, and everything is categorized so you can find out the name of a part if you know what category it's in - provided they sell it, of course.
the picture you have is the fuel pump assembly . ford sells it as one piece , except for the fuel sending unit , which is sold seperately , ( not in your pic )
