I"m also looking to cover my rear end.
Our 65 f250(styleside)never had a bumper, and also I'd like to get a hold of some brackets too.

Today I was at a bone yard lookin an measuring.

Newer fords have a wider frame.(My '65 is 34 inches wide.)
While looking for a frame width of
34 inches I found some older chevies('87)to have the same frame width.
same tailgate length 67 inches and overall length of 77 inches.

Couldnt a guy like me, just order some brackets for a full size chevy
1987 pick up? And bolt on a 1987(or of that vintage) bumper?

No one around here seems to go back to 65.
I've been told rear bumpers used to be a good aftermarket business.
But within last ten years or so, all trucks come stock with them
and so..not many sell them.
well thats enough, I'm off to check
out jcwhitney, Tim

Guys I used the brackets off of a mid seventies bronco. Cam real close to fitting. I think I just trimmed one of the brackets a touch. There are two peices per side. I don't think I had to even drill any holes in the frame.
