rear end identification
Trying to figure out what this rear end is (from a salvage yard) and if it is any good as a replacement. I did a search and came up with nothing
The tag numbers are
V130C
101026E05
It is going to go into my 89 F250 7.3 diesel that has a bad 4.10 rear.

The tag numbers don't look familar to me at all.
What truck did this axle come from? That would probably help more than anything.
Pics would work too.

Do not know what it came off of as it was already off at the bone yard.
Sorry don't have a digital camera. It has 8 Lugs and the large center hub like my current rear end.

Is there a removable rear inspection cover? Is there a fill plug in the rear cover?

there is a rear cover and the rear cover does not have any fill/Drain plugs in it.
The fill appears to be on the drivers side about 3/4 to the top

Does the axle have a VSS sensor on top of the center section housing? If so, you most likely have a sterling 10.25" or 10.5" axle. If you have a whell you can test fit, you can narrow it down even further. The wheels on your truck won't fit a 10.5" axle, but they'll fit a 10.25". Different bolt pattern.

My guess it is a 4.10 but it seems you have a number missing. It should read :
V130C
4.10 1026E05. Are you sure of those numbers?
Otherwise the those are good Ford's axle numbers

Yes it had a sensor in the top middle that appears to have been cut (torch) off. I checked wheel fit and they go on fine.
Is the sterling rear end any good. ???

I can't believe I didn't notice that before. Pops is right - it's a sterling 10.25" axle with 4.10 gears.
That second line should be 4 10 102
5 e05
And yes, the sterling 10.25" axle is a very stout unit. Just make sure if you have a 4x4, it matches the front gear ratio.
